Somalia Ramadan Relief 2010
Ramadan 2010 is set to begin on Wednesday 11th August 2010 and will run for 30 days until Thursday 9th September 2010. Somalia particularly the Banadiir (Mogadishu) is currently facing major humanitarian issues. During the blessed month of Ramadan Saada intends to run Afuur programmes in Areas throughout the Mogadishu and Ceelasha Biyaha
Objectives
The main objective of Saada Ramadan Relief is to raise funds to provide food packages and food servings for the neediest of people within Somalia. Saada aims by raising awareness amongst Somali people, the wider British and Muslim population, in order to be able to help the most desperate of Somali people during the religiously significant month of Ramadan.
Saada will aim to provide food packages to families in order to give them the raw ingredients of which they will need to be able to provide for themselves. This is of particular importance as this falls in line with Saada’s objectives of helping the people most in need whist protecting their dignity.
Simultaneously to this Saada will also strive to set up a minimum of at least two feeding areas during Ramadan so as to be able to allow, individuals who do not have families to rely on to be able to break their fast.
Target & Cost
Saada’s Target = £25,000
This target includes providing 300 families with food packages that will assist them for the full 30 days of Ramadan. This will be done at a cost of £50 per family.
£50 x 300 families = £15,000
The target also includes assisting individuals who are not able to fulfil their obligations during the month of Ramadan. This will be done at a cost of £20 per individual.
£20 x 250 individual = £5,000
Through providing this Ramadan Relief project Saada will be able to help people within Somalia be able to break their
fast. Saada intends to maximise all pathways in order to fundraise and successfully reach the target it has set itse
