Saada | Somali Aid and Development Association
Saada was established by a group of dedicated individuals made up of a mixture of students, graduates
and industry professionals.
Saada’s main aim is to help to alleviate the suffering and hardships faced by the poorest of people in Somalia, by
providing emergency relief to the people most in need; whilst at the same time establishing development projects that will
allow local communities to tackle and reduce their own problems. Saada aims to assist in all forms of development work
which will tackle and eventually eliminate the poverty, illiteracy, lack of water and educational opportunity which plague
the developing world.
Development Projects
Saada is involded in a number of development Projects, from building wells to orphan and hospital sponsership.
Through these projects Saada intends to be able to tackle problems which prevent development at a grassroot level,
by investing into people and the institutions that develop people.
Emergency Relief
Saada aims to provide emergency relief, as a short term rememdy in order to be able assist the people most in
need, in which ever form it might take whether this be through food parcels or handing out of water proof tents.
Through this Saada intends to be able to meet the short term needs of the people whislt working towards the
longer term goal of self-sufficiency.
Somalia Ramadan Relief
Saada is currently working on its annual Somalia Ramadan Relief, by working in conjunction with Somali Students. Saada intends to raise £25,000 this year so as to be able to assist 300 familes and 250 individuals.
